SUMMARY:Cornwall: 1 of 4
DESCRIPTION:Bach: The Well-Tempered Clavier (‘The 48’)\nLibby Burgess piano \nThe Cornwall ’48’ is spread across four performances over a long weekend in different corners of Cornwall – from house to school and barn to church! Hear the whole collection of preludes and fugues by following the journey around Cornwall\, or simply pick whichever performance is nearest to you. \nInspired by Bach’s own dedication of this music for ‘the musical youth’ and ‘those already skilled’\, the project is supporting Help Musicians\, Live Music Now\, Future Talent and Youth Music: between them these charities help hundreds of thousands of musicians every year. As with all Project 48 performances\, all proceeds go to these organisations. \nTickets £10. Bar available. Doors open 6:30pm. \n• Click to view details of this performance on the Carn to Cove website – a fantastic organisation promoting arts events in rural Cornwall \n• Click to buy tickets

SUMMARY:Greater London
DESCRIPTION:Postponed from 2021\, the Greater London performance will take place at the Church of St John the Divine in Kennington. Libby spends two days here\, playing the ’48’ across multiple performances\, as well as interracting with young musicians as part of the church’s brilliant music scheme. \nBach: The Well-Tempered Clavier (‘The 48’)\nLibby Burgess piano \nTuesday 12th: 5pm-6pm\nInformal drop-in\, drop-out performance\n(free entry) \nTuesday 12th: 7:30pm-8:30pm\nConcert\n(£10 admission\, further donations encouraged)\nTickets available here \nWednesday 13th: 6pm-7pm\nInformal drop-in\, drop-out performance\n(free entry) \nWednesday 13th: 7:30pm-9:15pm\nConcert with interval and drinks afterwards\n(£10 admission\, further donations encouraged)\nTickets available here \nIf you wish to hear the whole 48\, you’ll have to come to all four performances\, which you are more than welcome to do! It’s a remarkable experience hearing the whole set in the space of a couple of days: it’s wonderfully rich\, profound\, beautiful\, varied and philosophical music. But equally it would be lovely to see you at any one of the above sessions\, and each will make sense individually! \nSJDK is a beautiful building with a wonderful piano\, and is also home to a fantastically inspiring choral programme that does incredible work with the young people of the area (the timings of the informal performances have been chosen to encourage them to drop in after their rehearsal). So it feels a special place to be giving this London performance!
