Live performances finally in sight!

When I planned to carry out this project during the course of 2021, I hadn’t expected to get this far into the year with no live performances. But now they really might be shimmying into view!

Subject to the government sticking to its best-case roadmap, the first live concerts of Project 48 will take place in the East Riding of Yorkshire Tuesday 18th May – Saturday 22nd May! After such a long run-in, I am so excited (and, quite honestly, mildly terrified) to be staring down the barrel of real live performances of this incredible music. I am so happy to be starting off however in a building that I know and love – St Mary’s Church in Beverley, a stunning, peaceful, light space, with sensational acoustics. If you’re in the area, please do come along.

Other dates are gradually making their way onto the project website so you can check back there for performances near you. Inevitably many venues and hosts are only now able to start confirming details, so there are emails and phonecalls flying around left, right and centre at the moment! As soon as plans in each place are settled I’ll add them to the site.

I’ll also be keeping up the livestreams on the 1st of each month, from wherever I am at the time. I’m currently in London, and slightly delayed here while the project I’m working on awaits a negative covid test (the story of 2021…) – but I expect to be back in Yorkshire for Saturday’s 1st May livestream. Tune in to see whether I made it!! This will take place at 5pm on Saturday, and as always can be accessed live via the project Facebook page, or after the event from the same place and via the news page of the project website.

Many of those on this circulation list have been helping make the performances happen in one part of the country or another way, and in direct or indirect ways. Huge thanks to you all! It’s often said flippantly, but I really couldn’t do this without you.
